PHILOSOPHY: In Pursuit of Physical RE-education
The body we are born with is ours for life. It is crucial that one learns the basics of how to look after, develop, progress, and inevitably maintain the health and practical functions of our body. My intention is to set out in pursuit of the skills and knowledge to create a space of true physical education; a space that reconnects you with your body.
PNWGST IS FOR EVERY BODY // EVERY BODY NEEDS TO MOVE:
Here at PNWGST, we don't view exercise as punishment or simply as a means to an end; it is an enriching and rewarding part of a real life lived to full human-animal potential.

WHAT IS GST?
The beauty of gymnastic strength training is that you can tailor and fit the exercise to suit anyone’s starting level, from the absolute novice to experienced athlete. Our gradual approach prepares you for life and adventure by strengthening areas of weakness, restoring range of motion, and strengthening joints. We stress the application of INTENTION and ATTENTION to create a meaningful mind-body connection in regard to form, which will not only give you the aptitude for building strength, but will also assist in keeping you injury-free.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM A TYPICAL CLASS AT PNWGST?
Most of our members participate in our daily hour-long, group-style classes. The nature of our exercises often facilitate partner-based work, with brief rest periods between alternating sets. Classes often begin with a head-to-toe warm-up of the joints and limbs, and then transition to our instructor-planned, day-specific, guided practice.
WE ARE NOT JUST EXERCISING // WE ARE BUILDING COMMUNITY:
We strive to create an environment and community that is supportive and inspiring, where everyone looks forward to their time at the gym and unique friendships are fostered. We host a monthly potluck for members, family, friends, and newcomers to enjoy each other’s company and further those friendships around a meal.

My early upbringing in Eastern Washington was positively devoid of any sports or physical disciplines; I was raised eating an unimpressively standard western diet of conventional meat, processed foods, and refined sugars. As a teenager, my cardiovascular system and physical abilities reflected my nutritional foundation, or lack thereof. Midway through high school, I realized that this was far from I desired for my future…
I committed myself to reading everything I could get my hands on about fitness and nutrition, meanwhile experimenting with many physical disciplines: swimming, yoga, parkour, acrobatics, cycling, weightlifting, calisthenics, collegiate rowing, track, rock climbing, method natural, circus and others. I explored many of these while working, learning under the tutelage of many mentors, traveling abroad, and pursuing my formal education at OSU.
I can guarantee that PNWGST’s approach to human training will be new and challenging for you, regardless of your current level of experience; real fitness is both fun and incredibly rewarding. I look forward to a lifelong journey of health, wellness, and growth, and invite you to join in the PNWGST family!
